Sokolov Viktor is a professor of genetics. Was born in 1943. Graduated from Njvosibirsk State University in 1967 with a degree in genetics. I defended my PhD thesis, "Mutagenic effect of hydroxylamine on barley," in 1974. Since 1986, I have been working on the problem of apomictic reproduction. During this time, it has been shown that seedless reproduction in gamagrass has complex genetic control and requires at least 9 of the 18 chromosomes of the haploid set of this plant to maintain it. The independent nature of inheritance of two elements of the apomixis of diplosporia and parthenogenesis is also shown. In 1995, I received the US patent "Apomictic corn." For No. 5,710,367 dated January 20, 1998. In 2009, a Russian patent was obtained, "Method for obtaining coarse-grained forms from apomictic corn hybrids", No. 2379882, dated January 27, 2010. I have been working at the Institute of Cell & Molecular Biology since 2010
