Biography
Sijun Zheng, Pathology Professor working at Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences / Bioversity International and serving as International Consultants for Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) projects. Research activities mainly focus on aboveground ecological extensification, evaluation, screening, utilization of banana germpalsms and breeding new banana varieties for Fusarium wilt resistance and unravelling its underlying mechanism of resistance; belowground abundance of natural positive products such as rhizosphere microbiomes, root endophytes and its antagonistic mechanism against soil-borne Fusarium wilt disease. Recent 5 years research outputs have been published in eLife, Horticulture Research, Soil & Tillage Research, Horticultural Plant Journal, BMC Plant Biology, Plant and Soil, Euphytica, Physiological and Molecular Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Frontiers in Plant Science, Frontiers in Microbiology, Journal of Fungi, Scientific Reports, Plant Health Progress etc.
