Biography

Jian Zhang is a Principal Investigator, Professor, and Deputy Director at the State Key Laboratory of Rice Biology and Breeding at the China National Rice Research Institute in Hangzhou, China. With a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology, Dr. Zhang has led pioneering research in rice biology since 2013. Prior to this role, he served as an Assistant Research Professor and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Mississippi State University in the United States, where he contributed to molecular plant research from 2008 to 2013. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Huazhong Agricultural University and holds a B.Sc. in Agriculture from Hunan Agricultural University. His current work focuses on rice development and seed biology, contributing to advancements in crop breeding and agricultural biotechnology.
