  • Title: Dual Capped Zn N Nanofertilizers Intervening Nanoscale Strategy of Nutrient Application in Rice Production

Abstract

Nano-fertilizers are particularly conventionally designed to maximize nutrient delivery on a nano scale thus lessening the environmental pollution that is usually linked with overuse of conventional fertilizer to attain intended crop growth and yield. This specific nutrient delivery assists in efficient use of resources, less wastage as well as increased cost effectiveness. The present study is aimed at the production of new dual-capped zinc-nitrogen nanofertilizers. The hypothesized assumption is that the synthesis of certain nanofertilizers that will facilitate application of nanoscale of nutrients in agricultural systems. In order to do so, zinc nanoparticles were dual-capped using different mixtures of capping reagents: N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and urea; NAC and sodium salicylate (SAL); SAL and urea. The dual-capping approach will be used to increase the functionality, efficiency and reactivity of the nanofertilizers by increasing the dispersibility of the synthesized nanoparticles in solution. In addition, binary capping will also increase the stability of the nano-Zn particles. One of the beneficial features of the dual-capped Zn-urea nanofertilizers is the decreased fixation of the encapsulated zinc metal by the soil constituents, thereby promoting zinc phyto-availability.
